Saw a Lightning ...

Plus they're butt-fugly. Ford revives the name Lightning and put's it on a truck that, for the most part, doesn't look any different than any other F-150 out there. Doesn't deserve the name Lightning. And don't haul a 5000 pound trailer with it, you'll get around 85 miles and need a recharge. LOL!!
So being a Lightning is about looks, not performance?

If only it had different headlights, front airdam and maybe a ground effects kit it might look different enough...

How about looks and performance?

Well... if the question is performance, then the new one wins easily. So your only disagreement with the new one is based on a preference for the looks of your old one?

‘97- ‘03 is the ugliest body style F150 ever made… they needed to do something to make it look better.

That's funny. Everyone that owns one of them thinks they are the epitome of the F-150. All the rest are square boxes with wheels.

I’ve always thought they were boring, uninspiring, blend in with the masses trucks.

The 2nd Gen Lightning took that boring body style, gave it some life and made it the only variation worth looking at.

I say by the next 2 make overs, there will be curves back into truck design.

Notice how the early models had curved fenders and round noses, then by the late 70's got square, then back to curvy in the late 90 (curvy nose again), Now we're back to bricks on wheels.

yes, it is. Before we know it. The Ranchero and El Camino will be back on the showroom floor.
