So I am building the kid a mini T bucket and the only 2 ways I can think of is chain to a 90* gear box or a honda/ Toyota golf cart 2 speed trans. I want to use a 1947 crosley rear diff I scored so it looks like a T with a 9 inch rear as much as possible. So naturally the diff will be use to move the mini T bucket. I could make a 90* box using a very small diff cut down to act as a trans and use a drive shaft to the gear with a custom shaft. Or use that golf cart trans I found that inputs power to the front from the engine which creates a clutch issue...... any Ideas on small diffs?

D28 shouldn't be hard to turn up for cheap, cut out the beam for a cover...

Not quite following the build

Will the engine be a Briggs & Stratton type with centrifugal clutch or will there be a transmission with Reverse

There are several 90deg power takeoffs available
Google: 90 degree pto gearbox

Mower attachments for Tractors often had these on the decks

Scour Ebay for cheap used lawn tractor/mower gear cases. Snapper, MTD, JC Penney, White, Sears, Murray, etc.. There should be some cheap older boxes on there to do exactly what you need. I know I've had a few over the years. Some went from belt to chain with the 90 degree output, and some were chain to chain. Some will also have a gear lever for multiple speeds. Rear engine riders had some creative boxes in them.

You should be able to find a free Peerless unit locally. People are always throwing away the old rear engine riders.

Those for a shredder will be huge, heavy and power hungry for what he is doing.

Search for someone parting out a shaft drive atv. You could use a front or rear diff from one of them.
