also is it possible to stroke a 2.9
It's called a 4.0. Going through the trouble to stroke a 2.9 would take a lot more work than wiring up a 4.0.also is it possible to stroke a 2.9
dont lissen i like the 2.9 its a killer little motor but it is still a little motor so you are not going to be able to make v8 numbers. so the first thing i would sugest is to consitter your plans in the future for the truck...is it going to be a daily driver, a killer mud machine a fast street machine or a combonation of these.... right now i am going through Sven Pruett's book "How to Build and Modify Ford 60 degree V6's" with a fine tooth comb picking out as many mods as i can handle(i got almost the hole book highlighted). i am aslo diching the stock efi setup and building a custom intake and runing a 390 4bbl holly. now those are my plans and many people are gonna call me crazy but if you want to put some time effort and alot more money than its worth you could have a killer little motor. now i hate to guess that ur not looking for that much workso if i were you i would first start by getting a set of pacesetter headers a 6al msd box porting the upper and lower intakes adding the 5.0L throttle body. you can do all that and not even tare into the engine. now if u wanted to brake into the engine you could install a mild cam and a set of 2.8 pistons as well. now if you wanted a more powerful stock ford ranger you could go to the jusckyard pull a used motor out of a worn out truck and install it into your truck.
well kinda it comfirmed my thaught that you could use a 2.8 durraspark distributor with a differnt gear on the bottom of it
