I cant identify this part on my 83 ranger please help

I took out my T-Stat housing and realized there was not one in there... Yes i know but its not my fault... i thank the previous owner :flipoff:

Behind the Tstat housing theres another tube hookup to where the tstat housing screws in... when i unscrewed the 3 bolts the tstat housing fell down as well as this back part which also has a tube hookup.... i cant find it online at all and i need a new one because the prev owner stripped the 3 holes... again i know a true smart one...

If i made sense at all and any of you know what part im talking about please help me i need to pick this part up tomorrow.

the numbers i was able to get off the backpiece is
83tf-9k457-ea

Please help

Hmmm Yep thats the gasket but i couldnt find the part anywhere online!
Not even rockauto!

I got my gasket at carquest for a buck or two.

The threads on that back outlet were questionable on mine as well, so I got some longer bolts and put nuts on the backside. I looked briefly on the net for a replacement one and I did find the more common one that has the lower thermostat listed for about $10.

Be prepared to pull the power steering pump bracket off to be able to get that rear surface clean enough to seal. You don't have to disconnect it, just take it off of the engine and move it off to the side, it really makes it easier.

A/C compressor will be in the way if you have it, mine wasn't hooked up so I just pulled it off and left it off.

Not one of Ford's better ideas IMO.

You did find the lower?
I cant find it at all... looked at every online part store looking to find one close so i can pick it up after work...
If you could help me out with a link or site you found it at...
Worst case i can just get the gaskets and do nuts on the back like you mentioned...

Work for you? So far?

If anyone could help...

Go on rockauto and go to your truck. Go under "Cooling system" and then "Water Outlet Gasket".

I know where to locate the gasket lol...

i cant locate the lower rear water outlet... i have looked everywhere

So far it is is working fine.

I am pretty sure Napa showed it on their website, if they have it about any parts store should have it too.

I would almost bet that they will have to order it though, I doubt it is a very hot item.

This guy right here with the hose on it right? (yours should look slightly different though)

BINGO!

Thats is... doesnt look too different!

Thanks 85

now if i could find that on a parts website id be set...

But thats not it... if you read that one it says front left... when im looking for a lower rear! and its thinner than the one you guys listed at napa and rockauto becuase theres little room back there and its a different size pipe hookup!

I called napa and they cant order they suggested call ford, heal a coil, or nuts in the back with longer bolts!
