My credo
built her in a storage unit
i figured out my last two threads, the reason the truck was making a noise and would stall when you push the clutch. the separator plate is sliding against the flywheel constantly. i used the original 2.9 spacer/separator plate. the starter fit through it so i assumed it was fine, does anyone know where i could get one of these or does anyone have one to sell to me. really need this piece, there’s an auto 4.0 at the yard but that’s it. and i’ve only looked a little on the internet but can’t seem to find one. plz help

I've used both, as long as it's not bent there isn't really a difference other than the lack of bolt holes for the two bolts that thread into the oil pan and some are made of aluminum instead of steel. there is nothing in there that would cause an engine to stall. if it seems like it's rubbing against the flywheel it is more likely that the thrust bearing on your crankshaft has excessive wear that may make a noise as it contacts something but is unlikely. I would look elsewhere for the source of your stalling and noise, it sounds like an unrelated issue.

how do i test for crankwalk🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ this is the thing i was afraid of but thinking now that the flywheel has gone far enough in to touch the separator plate has me worried that that’s really what it is

you may be over extending your clutch hydraulics also, not sure what you had for a combo before your swap but that could be something to look into. If you had thrust main wear that significant you'd also most likely have terrible oil pressure. Quick and dirty test, start the engine up and have a helper depress the clutch while watching crank pulley, if there's a lot of play you'll be able to watch it move slightly forward as clutch is depressed, if it isn't that significant you could use a pry bar to move crankshaft backward and forward using a dial indicator to see how much play there is.

when i start it up it has nearly 50lbs of pressure. but i will do this

yea it has crankwalk. pretty bad too.

well that's lame, might be fixable depending on what's been done damage wise. That may also explain the stalling too, if it's moving so much that the crank sensor can't read correctly

does the 2.9 have a crank sensor?
