yeah ..... I make them solve their own issues ...... My daughter dropped her phone and I seen it .... I picked it up and when we got home I ask her where her phone was ..... she couldn't find it ....... I had her walking all over the trailer park looking for her phone for 2 hours before I gave it back ....... she hasn't dropped it or forgot it anywhere since ........

I did get involved with a problem at school...... the principal told her she was over reacting because another girl (a second grader) called her a skanky ho (seriously, I didn't know these kids knew this stuff at this age). Normally this would not bother me because I believe in solving your own issues ....... but this girl relentlessly taunts her and bullies her ..... I still would not have gotten involved because Tiana could take the other girl's head ..... she has been in kick boxing since she was 3. But we sent her to school with 9 birthday part y invitation to give to her friends. We told her to do it on the down low because she was not allowed to do this unless she was inviting her whole class...... one invitation got dropped in the hallway so the principal found it and called me wanting to know what to do with it ...... I told him to give it to the intended recipient. he said he can't do that because it would make the other kids that didn't get invited upset ........ wait a minute ...... didn't you tell me that Tiana was over reacting because this other girl bullies her and refused to do anything about it ........ my kid was inviting kids to her party ...... this other kid was committing assault and Harassment according to the law ..... and at 8 years old she has reached the age of accountability....... he gave me a lecture and told me not to send invitations again ..... I told him if that girl doesn't leave tiana alone I will get the police involved ....... the courts are handing out sever punishments for Harassment because of that fat girl that committed suicide over being taunted on Myspace ..... he backed off ...... I am not bluffing......

I won this one ..... but that principal is a condescending sanctimonious ass wipe that thinks he is better than the parents because he went to Berkley.........

in the winter down here in alabama i would wear my carharrt and at school they didnt like for kids to have jackets on in school but they kept it so cold you had to wear your jackets so you wouldnt freeze in class so one day i walked in and one of the teachers not one of mine but another one stoped me and told me to take my jacket off and i told them no it was mine and it was yet again cold in school and i told him to turn the heat up and he said no so i walked away with my jacket on so later the principle pulls me out of class takes my carharrt jacket and walks away and while im still in shock i pull out my cell phone and call my dad and at this point in time he was still a cop so he pulled up in squad car and uniform walked to my room got me and went to get my jacket back and he threatend the principle cussed him and wanted to take him to jail for stealing my jacket and after that the school changed there out look on jackets in school. so i see where you are coming from it was something my dad bought me and something i took care of and never took off till i got home so it really pissed my dad off that they took it from me without asking. i personally think the school systems are and can be WAY out of line thats a big reason i droped out and got my GED

nice man yeah I know what you mean I haven't been out of high school long but I had a asst. principal put his hands on me (I probably deserved it) but the school cop saw and my old man is a cop (has been for 16 years) and well liked.... the school cop and him were partners for years, this guy used to eat dinner with us you know?.... put the principal under arrest and took him to jail. Oh man he was saying that he was gonna sue us and the city (that he worked for) you know dumb ass running his mouth. so he plead not guilty and he took it to trail anyway after about 7 months of going to court my dad told them to drop the charges (i wasn't 18 yet). however the state wanted to make example of him. I haven't seen him sense then... come to think of it I dont think he won his lawsuit either. got a little off topic, my bad

Her friends mother should stay the hell out of your families business.

If my mother grounded me, and one of my friends parents called her an "asshole" or a "bitch" because of it she would drop them where they stand. Same goes for my father. Although he might yell at them first and give them a warning.

part of the problem with the school system is that there is no longer any ass whoopins. Part of the problem with kids these days (and some of these parents are still kids....) is they have never had an ass whoopin......... this woman see nothing wrong with being 5 min late but could not be any older than 26 (unless she just looks really really young) and has a 13 or 14 y/o daughter .... although I will say she is the most responsible 13 or 14 y/o I have met in a while and is a good kid ........ but I bet her Father (whom she lives with full time) gave her ass whoopins ........

Never been to school. Home school all the way. Wouldnt chanage a thing other than learning to spell better lol.

I like home school because I have been turning in 1099's sence I was 14.

I am thinking about home schooling after my wife graduates and is in the Army ........ then I will not have to work and can be home full time with my kids ........ or maybe send them to school for reading and physical education and I do their math, science ,and history.......
I have met homeschooled kidz an' dey got none uh da social skillz....... 2 were just at my daughter's birthday party and they were very shy and awkward .... plus their mother had to be with them 100% of the time ...........

oh at my highschool we still got paddled!! i thought it was cool cause i never had to get paddled. but the kids that did complained how bad it hurt for days and the ast. principle could only paddle you 3 times state law said anymore than that and it would be battery

Ya I know plenty like that also. I had alot a friends that were home schooled also so it helped. If I dodnt go to chruch so much it would have blew because thats were all my friends were and still are. Also my chruch isnt just a stand alone curch. Its part of many more so I got to have friends everywhere. Without that I'd be like my backwood homeschooled cuzins that can hardly talk.

Its not for every kid thats for sure.

you know, back in my day, I always tried to not be late. The few times that I was, and only by a few minutes, I got my ass reamed! So 5 min to me is nothing. 15+ minutes, then I can understand or if it was real important to be there on time.

I can remember a few things about school. I was always extremely little, and got picked on a lot, until my dad told me if you start a fight i'll whip your a$$ myself, if you get into a fight and lose, you'll get another a$$ whippin when you get home. Now saying that, when in middle school a kid tried to choke me, i broke his legs, and his nose... They wanted to expel me for violence, dad told them no, you are not teaching my son to back down from oppessors, or challenges in his life. He got arrested for assulting the pincipal, but charges were dropped after dad put in a phone call to the sherrif himself that he went to school with and has known personally his entire life. Now I graduated 10 yrs. ago now, we would go hunting before school, and if we got a deer or hog, we would be excused to run it to the butcher, and we would clean our guns on break.... betcha can't do that at a school anymore.

If my kids are late, they dont eat. Plain and simple. We eat at 6 when the wife gets home from work, dinner is on the table at 6:05. If they arent around, their plates are not made. This helps to "ensure" they arrive when I say it is time. Harsh? Yeah, effective? Yes. It has been a long time since they were late.

ok, im changing the subject for a second....

im been talking with this girl alot, and i know her dad is strict about curfew and stuff... most the time, well like 99% of the time, i can have her home on time...but there are times that ill be running like 5 minutes late...i dont want to speed and risk her life just to get her home on time....

as parents, would you be alright, if i called and asked if she could be a few minutes late? not all the time, just occasionally...
