RSH.....my parents loaned me their 2nd car for a while.....this old old old man ran a stop sign & I t-boned his big caddy...then I got sued by the people the HE ran into as he was trying to FLEE THE SCENE....

then i rememberd that i promised God that i wasn't gonna kill any more people...

anyhoooo....the lawsuit against me was dropped (Loo-z-anna law)

but I still felt rotten (eggs) about smashing my parents car....

I finally got over the feeling......

I got 2 painters give me quotes today, one is for
650 usd and the other one for 700, both are reputable painters, im still waiting for a third one to come to my e-mail.
Tomorrows the appoint ment for the damages citation.

Holy shit, man. I may have to come down to Honduras for some work. I got quoted 600ish by four shops just to have three panels painted and with no body work and if I removed them from the truck myself.

that guy just went out of the roof.
i quoted parts at the same store he went to, and hes almost doubling every part.

my painter is still the cheapiest option, but since my stepdad bought that truck, seems like its his call on where its gettin fixed.

Now heres the thing, the man is poor, poor and going broke because he still owes the tuk tuk, and is paying the medical expenses of the injured passenger. The quote ended up at 670USD.

I think i did the right thing, i gaved him a hand, im paying the parts and hes paying the labor. In fact he took a quick credit loan (he had the papers ) to bring some cash to pay the damages. He gaved me the money today. 520 USD. Im not gettin a lot of money right now, but ill manage myself to get the parts.
I clearly see he wanted to honor the damages, but he cant. Maybe God will bless me one day for helping this poor man.

imo, it's not your responsibility to cover ANY of the cost out of pocket... but morally, you did the right thing... you'll look back on this down the road and it will make you feel good, because you decided to help someone out who wronged you (albeit not on purpose)

Vehicles are just rubber and iron. Replaceable at will, they don't feel. The soft fleshy things inside of them are all that matter.
