I hate life right now

if i were closer id give you that 220 for the ranger in a heartbeat

It's your decision. I've been going to ITT Tech for a year now for computer networking and I am thinking hard about switching to another school for automotive as I now know it is my passion. Don't make the mistake of not doing what You want. It affects my grades I have started to hate school so much. Think long and hard about this. You haven't gone yet and it's your life, your job you will be hating everyday. You never know you may love it later on or you may hate it so bad you drop out a year in like I may be doing... UTI is sooo expensive though. 26k for a 56 week course. I hope you make the right decision. Just know whatever one you make, it's a big decision. I'm paying for my own college. I wish I had parents who payed for mine.

Yeah, I've been thinking about elementary school education for a few years, and like the idea a lot, I really like working with kids. And I am going to talk to my dad tonight, but just in case, I want to be sure I can go to the college I want to for the major I want.

It is his decision but if it's his parents money they can still tell him what to do with it. That is why I did not let my parents pay for my schooling or anything after I turned 18. It's my money and no one can tell me what to do with it.

If you don't want your parents telling you what to do after you turn 18, don't accept their money. Tell them it's your life, your decision and stop being selfish. Sure you may piss them off, but that is their problem and they'll get over it.

Just my 2 cents.

Things can backfire - Kind of sounds like he's living at home, their home. Hate it or not, sometimes have to play by their rules. You think life is rough now, get out in the work force, get married, get a house and lose both. Next year the company relocates you 200 miles away. I wish life came with a rule book.

I need this ranger gone, dad told me I cans sell it for the cash, anybody wants it? come and get it, only exception is a spare tire, a car trailer, and $220.

Here's what I'd probably do in your situation (keep in mind there's details I'm probably not aware of):

Play their game, go to the school already chosen by you and your parents where the deposit is already paid. Your first year of (a four year) college is usually just general education classes. Get a job and work a bit during school, but not so much to be detrimental to your coursework, save up some money. For your second year of school transfer to the university of your choice and use the money you earned to help pay for it. Depending on the university most of your credits will transfer. If you wanted to you could talk to an admissions counselor at your school of choice and ask them upfront if your credits will transfer, they might have some advice for you.

I Like that idea.^^ I never went to college never really looked into either. I just decided to work my ass off for a living. I hope everything works out for ya I think you should do what he said thou. ^^

Got it pinned, the fafsa stuff (loans, etc) have been planned by my VERY good freind Fred (not a trs member) to help me change colleges. I am very relieved now.

I just need the $220 for this truck, if its not gone this week, Im taking it to the scrapyard for $250

Would it not make more sense to scrap it for more money? :icon_confused:

Obviously he doesn't like the idea of his truck being turned into a worthless hunk of iron.... I've sold trucks for less than scrap to prolong their life.

Just go to a college any college.... the first year or two are the same about everywhere.

You might even do like me and go to college..... party a lot then graduate and never use your degree for anything.

Granted I do have a pretty sweet job and college has helped with my math conversions for gas pressures and map designing i do all day at work. Except Friday was the greatest day ever.... a labor crew was short handed and they let me run a vacuum excavater and I was like hell yeah, bucking for a demotion!!! this job is a blast. and this last bit has nothing to do with helping you or giving advice, I just had to tell somebody.

+1 on truck
+1 on job

go to college. it'll open doors that otherwise wouldnt be open. some jobs absolutely will not even let you apply without a degree. they wont let you teach without a degree.

transferring is really easy. i went to a junior college my first year (i had a problem actually going to class in high school, my grades werent so hot) then i transferred to a 4 year university. i dont think they even looked at my grades, maybe it's just auburn, i dont know. just go where your parents want you to go for the first year and then transfer where you wanna go. if you're paying for it, then they cant tell you what to do.
