I has an issue!!!!

If you want to minimize down time try and find a engine the same year at the bone yard preferrably one from a car fire. The engine always gets shut down properly and normally in good shape internally. Rebuild one with lower miles and you still have wheels to get parts then when your ready do the swap (plug and play).

I gotta go shopping first. Ball Joints, Shocks and lots more. I have quite the list on my android.

So is that like a honey do list of sorts!?

CEL has been indeffinate since I bought it. WHICH is how I found this site in the first place. googled Ford Ranger Code 224/223 and BOOM TRS thread. Ignition Control Module.

I'm just gonna rebuild the freakin thing. 315K is enough for a 93.... I want to keep kickin till I die. Therefore... rebuild time. Find all the little screw ups and make it shiny. badda-bing badd-boom.

thats the plan w my '88, as soon as i get home from this D@mn "deployment" im gonna start piecing together the 302 i have sitting in a garage, swap it in, and then rebuild the 2.9 for use in one of many possible "projects". ( im thinking of making a dune buggy/ sand rail/ big kid go-kart)

If it still has oil in it (and doesn't have a plastic valve cover) it probably will be ok.

If it gets hot enough to cook the oil out, don't bother. Anything metal is probably warped with a messed up temper.

i agree with kimcrbr, go get another engine from the bone yard to rebuild first, then just drop it in when needed, and rebuild the old one while using the boneyard engine. its kinda like changing underware, unless you walk around the house without it when washing clothes..

LOL! Nah, I do my own shoppin and plan on doin my own workin on my truck thank you very much.

I like my engine.. I like my truck... That ain't gonna change. ;)
