(Ak907Girl) Dude, one Im out in the cold unlike half of you pussys

Be happy you are healthy enough to be outside rolling around under your truck... and for that matter that you have a truck to fuss over. That is what I was getting at. :icon_thumby:

There is something very wrong with your truck, keep after it and you will get it.

Well, With the AC unplugged its running good, but that still doesn't explain why there was smoldering embers flyin out my tailpipe.

Did you pull the vacuum hose off of the fuel pressure regulator yet?

At idle your EGR valve will be closed, pulling the vacuum line off should not change anything other than create a vacuum leak unless you plug the hose.

Check and Check. smellin no fuel. AC was kickin on and off, unplugged the AC and it purred like a Dayum kitten.

Yep checked the regulator and it seems to be ok, my pressure guage is on loan so didnt check that. This was the first i witnessed it acting up so it was running like crap. At idle i pulled the EGR line and no real change just slight when i put my finger on the line and stopped the vac leak. Put another hose on EGR and sucked on it and the valve actuated fine. It was running rough but the AC kept cycling on and off and would just about kill it, kinda funny Caitlyn said hell its discharged anyway may as well just unplug it so i did and boom went straight to a nice smooth idle. Wondering if the coolant temp sensor could be the culprit?:dunno:

Just got home from driving around. DAYUM she's running smooth! (except for the fact I need new ball joints) I had fun hittin the highway and gettin her up to 80mph haven't seen that speed in my truck for awhile. Going to bed with a smile on my face! hell yeah.

Noice. :headbang:

First I would change the oil and filter. Erase the memory and reset the computer run it for 20 mins at medium speeds then run the codes. Did the engine stall when you hooked up manifold vacuum up to the EGR at an idle if not something is wrong. Make sure it is working correct then run the codes.

Btw... palin is a ****ing DUMB @$$ RETARD!! She's not even a real alaskan! her tv show is a #$%^#$% JOKE! people don't do that #$%# in Alaska, not unles you have your own plane or you're a rich MOFO!

I would like to pass a law were Palin is not allowed in Ak anymore! lol

Haaaaa haaaa, Thanks, GF!! You rock!!!!

:icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

I gotta do Ball Joints, Shocks, Lift, and CEL next. OH and that stupid Thermostat gasket!!

OH and that stupid Thermostat gasket!!

Yeah, thats a pain in the bum. Make sure you carefully razor scrape ALL of the old gasket off the engine block, and then resurface the thermo housing, so the new gasket will have a good chance of sealing. You can resurface your thermo housing by laying some 200 (then finish with 400) grit wet/dry on a flat table top and sand it down just until all of the surface is clean and consistent in appearance. You might even consider using a felpro never leak or whatever they are called gasket. They are blue plastic with an orange embedded oring, that will seal the thing up nice. They are like $8-10. My housing was not flat (warped), which explained why it still leaked after a mechanic "fixed" it, just before I bought my truck. Oh, and put in a new motorcraft thermostat while you are in there...its cheap and they will fail eventually. Good luck!

The one on my 2.8 (lower) was warped too. They are only aluminum and warp when you overtighten them.

+1 to making sure you get it really good and clean, it is not a nuclear weapon... close is not good enough.

the last person who changed the thermostat was a mechanic, and he apperently didn't do it every well. which pisses me off cause now I gotta fix it. But I'll make sure it's nice and tight (DIRTY JOKE!) lol
