i usually dont need a key for my truck and can start it by turning those little ears on the ignition but today it decided it didnt want to work that way and i was too far from home to have somebody bring my keys so i broke the switch out and now i have to start my truck using a screwdriver to push the rod forward. this sucks:bawling:

Fail.

Don't feel bad, I once had to do that once. Then I replaced the key tumbler and set the pins to match my current key. Works like new again, and only costed about $20 for the stupid part, but took a few hours on getting the key pins correctly set.

You Idiot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

been there....broke that.....waaaaahahhahhahaaa

the cast metal housing for the ignition is broken too. is that something that i can replace or do i need a whole new steering column?

Be sure to file a police report on yourself

.

i had to hotwire my truck one day... the ignition fell apart. oh well. it happens.

but come on? you're so lazy you don't even carry a key????

My truck does the same thing, but I know that it decides to lock every so often. So you know what I do?
