I'm selling my Ranger (as described in my sig) tommorow. I'm getting a good price for it, and even though I will be in another Ranger soon, I'm feeling a bit sad to see her go. She was my first vehicle, and she served me well.

Anyone else had a similar feeling when selling their first car/Ranger?

im considering trading mine for a..........wait for it......a DODGE! so yah, it feels horrible. and ive sold 2 rangers in the past also. ive felt bad everytime and i bet this time wont be any easier.

Ranger each have a different personality and it nakes them more like people (very reliable people, which we could all use more of in our lives), so it makes it that much harder to let them go. The first ranger i sold was my 87 ext cab which had over 300k miles on it and was on its second motor. I thought the guy would be lucky to get another year out of it, but 6 years later i was in the jy looking for parts and we met up again. I took all the badges off from it and then took a pic and said goodbye, just like a funeral (no, i dont take the jewelery from the dead at funerals).

Ouch. I was faced with the realization that my frame was rusting out, and with a blown clutch it wasn't worth fixing my old b2... So I stripped it and got it hauled away. It was a sad, sad day when I decided she was wrecker-bound.

Yeah, the deals going down early tommorow, i've got all my stuff out except for my sub box and amp which im taking out first thing in the morning. Sadness is deffinitely creeping up.

I completely agree with the idea that they are much like people. From the day I got her it felt like I had a companion that wouldn't let me down. I do take pride in the fact that it's going to be someone else's first vehicle and I know all they gotta do is treat her well and she will treat him great.

Seeing as it wasn't junked I can't really take a piece of it for a keepsake, but I am carrying over my steering wheel cover and my two mirror ornimants (bandana and graduation tassle).

Before it gets too late I'm gonna drive her up and down the main street in town.

I sold mine.

Then bought it back.

Now I might be buying another, slightly better, one just like it.

I might make that mistake of selling it again down the line, so I am considering disabling it's value by removing the engine and transmission in hopes of a future V8 swap.

But hey, we all need money now and then.

Yeah, if it weren't for the fact I got a hook on my grandma's Ranger which should be in my possession within a few weeks, I wouldn't be selling mine.

Also for the low price of free :D altho I will have to buy a new set of tires and flush the engine as it's not been driven in over a year. And I gott find someone with a truck and a trailer to get it down here.

Can't wait to start my build thread, I already got some of the less expensive parts picked out.

i only sell to needy friends

I sold my 347 stroker foxbody to one of our techs who loves fords but could never afford to build a drive train like that Afr heads, demon carb,385 rwhp-$500.00 down and $37.50 a week:shok:2 years and he never missed. I just sold my 1986 lifted regeared and new clutch and all new ujoints -$200.00 so another one of our techs could go wheelin with us-it had a blown motor and the boss said he could leave it outside til he got the cash for a used motor, his wife snuk down thursday and bought a short block -its going in monday so i will have the blown motor pics for my other thread soon. Do I lose money ?GOD YEAH! but it is the difference in taking your dog to a cool farm to live on or to the pound to be put down cause your apt is too small:bawling:

The time is drawing nearer and nearer D:

Now I have to overcome being a lazy ass and go yank my sub box/amp out.

Nah, what you do is sell the good engine in it (if applicable) and swap it for the smae, but ragged out but rebuildable motor to deter buyer, or at least make a harder sell.

The next Ranger shall be a family heirloom vehicle tho since my granma is the first owner, bought it new in '94, never going to leave my possession til I pass it down or die :)
