I got me a pet!

Here's my old puddytat. I shouldn't really say old, he was only a few months when some asshat ran him down in the road.

He used to bring 3-4 mice a day up onto the porch he lived on. I rescued him and his three brothers from the wild, one died of an upper respiratory infection, another pulled through the same sickness but lost an eye in the process. He disappeared when he was a kitten. I sometimes see a very large cat with one eye wandering around the woods by me. He was the same size as my cat when they were kittens, both were gonna be huge. They had a big mother but they also had very fuzzy ears with a odd looking tip. I suspect they had bobcat blood in them. The fourth I gave to my sister, she never got him neutered and he insisted on marking the house and fighting with her 4 year old male cat named Princess Gizmo (long story) so she gave him away to someone else.

This is the one that lost an eye. He doesn't look sick in this one, but he was. Just not as bad as his tiny brother. I swear I see him wandering around my property once or twice a year, looks just like a miniature bobcat with a white legs.

Then again, the bobcat thing is just a theory. They could have just had two really big ass parents.

I love cats!!!!!! Cats are good for the soul!!!! 'nuf said....lol

+1 to that! I miss the big black one we used to have. He had a purr that would make a diesel truck sound quiet! Come to think of it, he was almost as big as one as well. He tipped the scales at close to 20 lbs. That's amazing since when we got him as a kitten, he was only about 2 lbs.

Sadly, he passed away last fall. From old age at 13 years old.

Give me a dog any day. At least they listen. I could go on but I am going to be good.

Dogs kill any sense of spontaneity. I like to be able to take weekend motorcycle trips at a moments notice but you can't with dogs. Plus, I feel that cats are truly smarter. That's why they don't listen to people very often. Dumb animals are easier to train.

Sorry to hear about that. Heck....13 is nothing. I have a 19 1/2 year old. As long as he eats and drinks and gets up and walks he will last. I know that one day he wont be able to but I will be there for him. I found him as a kitten in early 1991.

I have had cats and dogs and love them all. My dogs used to protect some of my indoor/outdoor cats by making sure no jerk who did not like cats would not try to harm them. We had a guy running from the property one night. The guy dropped a nice Mosberg 500 shotgun he had with him. My dog 'The Dominator' who was part shepard/wolf chashed him for about 10 min. We saw blood near the back of the woods and I found the Mosberg in that area. I still have it. My dog came back and had some blood on his face, so we know he chewed up the guy.
We think the guy came to shoot a cat or two since the cats love to hang out in the back porch and it is enclosed. We leave the lights on at night. I have several wireless sensors in the woods that let us know when something is coming in the yard. I have night/day wireless cameras in front and back. No cops showed up so we think the guy was a crook. Hope he got infected from the bites!!!! lol

I'm allergic to cats as well.

Somehow I still wound up with two house cats. I wouldn't trade them for anything. Next pet may or may not be a dog, though. I haven't decided.

when the youngest cat was only a couple weeks old and could still fit in the palm of my hand a huge moth flew into the house one day. She jumped up almost six feet and grabbed it mid air and killed it on her landing. The thing was bigger than her head and she pranced around the house for at least half an hour carrying it in her mouth, just showing off her kill. We've never had a mouse since :D

I love that story!!!!! I wish you had some pics of that!!!

damn there is no way id keep that gun. theres no telling how many murders he used it for.

I used to have a cat named Timimi. I found her in a woodpile when she was about 6 days old, after our neighbors dog killed the mother. I fed her with a medicine dropper until she could eat solid food. Anyways, she was an awesome cat. She liked to ride inside my jacket when I rode my motorcycle, and poke her head out of the neck to watch. She'd also ride on my shoulder when I was walking places. Unfortunately, we went on vacation one summer, and she was gone when we came back.

You know, I never really liked cats, but my parents had an orange cat, simply named Orange. Looked just like Harold here, and Orange was the only cat I liked, 'til she ran away. So I saw this one, and wanted it. Haha. I still want a Border Collie, though.

Sadly I don't have any pics. She was actually a rescue cat. She's from Puerto rico. Her mother died giving birth to her so the family just threw out the mother and her 6 kittens. One of the other tenants in her building happened to see the cats in the dumpster a couple days later after 3 had died. She does animal rescues so she took them in. My mom works with her when she travels down there and one day she came back with a new kitten for me. The f-in airline made us buy her a plane ticket even though she was the size of a fist.

Back when she still had front claws she used to like to climb up my pant leg and my shirt and perch on my shoulder to play with my necklace.

I saw a kitten at a customer's house today that had climbed up the screen on a porch and snapped some pictures for this thread :)

Andres, be sure to post some more pics of Harold doing kitty-type things!

yeah, cats suck. women have cats, and if you're an unmarried woman, then you get lots of them.....i'd toss that thing outside and let it eat all the rodents around the house tho

that's a still a more interesting conversation than you would have with a cat

Your mind doesn't work like mine.............. I don't talk back to myself, but having a cat talk back to me for me, now that's not so strange.

Naw, I think the guy was just a coward...he could never face a human...just hapless animals. The guy was very new. I could look at it right away that it might have been fired no more then two times. Now I have another Mosberg and I put the pistol grip set up on this one and it is so short. You could hide it under a hoodie!!!!
