I got a plane

Good job!

That is one thing I wish I could have stayed with.

It was popular with prewar US military aircraft too. I love old aircraft :icon_thumby:

Somewhat different but related:

I've seen this pick somewhere before, I have a digital copy of it somewhere in my collection, and while I don't have time to search I will say the aircraft pictured are TBD Devastators of VT-6 aboard CV-6 aboard the USS Enterprise Circa 31 March, 1941, 14 months later most of these aircraft were on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean...

Time for an update I guess.
School wise I'm almost done, one more class next semester and I graduate. In the meantime I'll also be going to a school to get all of my ratings, and hopefully by the time I get done with college I'll be done with my flight stuff too. Then I'd like to hop onto the airlines and finally have an actual career.
In the meantime I've been flying the L-2A a lot, it's been a blast and its such a fun plane to fly, but now I'm moving up to a new plane.
The newest addition is a 1954 E35 Beechcraft Bonanza, its pretty fast and looks good. I've only flown it twice so I'll get better with it and eventually get my endorsement for it. It's fully decked out in instruments and is a challenge to fly.

Man, when I moved to Texas I thought the only thing in the sky I had to worry about was tornados.

Just kidding

The germans had the Luftwaffe - we have the Texas MastuhWaffles.

I probably shouldn't be posting when I'm half a sleep and think I'm funny.....

Seriously though, congrats man!

My neighbor was a pilot and I think I remember him talking about that plane, or one like it. With that V-style tail arrangement it takes some skill to land them in a crosswind.

Hopefully we dont get another nader right after christmas, don't worry I don't have any 20mm cannons on the plane....yet.

The other day I landed in a crosswind, honestly it wants to keep flying straight. However it likes to wiggle its tail.

Congrats on the school man. Are you still getting your degree in Electrical Engineering? And we need pictures of the Bonanza :)

I never went to school for that, I was kinda forced to do engineering, but I changed my degree to history like I wanted to after the first year.

I went to school for Engineering (AS degree) then dropped out before getting my Bachelors degree. went back to get my Bachelors in Science 11 years later in Management Information Systems (IT) I enjoyed History the most out of all of my non core classes. It definitely helped that I had an awesome history teacher when I was getting my AS in engineering

I haven't had a good time, literally have been able to do nothing in my area of study and they keep messing up my stuff.

Whats that? Update time?
Well took a trip to Colorado in the Bonanza, freshly painted wings and looking sharp.

The trip there we were at about 8,000 feet with it being 74 degrees outside, and inside it was hot as hell, so hot in fact my ipad overheated. On the way back we were at 13,500 feet and it was still only 34 degrees.
One of the hardest landings I had ever made at Salida, with up to 31 knot gusts left and right, and massive downdrafts.
