I am tired of messing with this carb on my truck soooo I was on craigs list and I found a really good deal an a weber 32/36 two barrel with the syncro secondary.
Now I just need to mod the manifold or build an adapter and adjust it I am so looking forward to it running better.
after I get the carb figured out I am going to do the cam I got.
I know it will make at least 500hp now that I got stickers for it.lol

Don't forget to cut the handle off a shopping cart and make a spoiler! It'll add at least another 500hp!

More seriously, be sure to post lots of pics of how you accomplish it.

well my truck is tore apart right now and what a pain!I took the original carb spacer and modified it so I could bolt down the weber.I also took off about 400 vacuum lines cause when I am done I will only need 1 line to the distributor.anyways I took some pics and I will post them up later with a little write up if anyone is interested.if not I ain't gonna waste my time

I'm always interested in someones hard work :D
Seriously, write it up, I like learning, even if I'm not likely to use it!

Richard

PS, I subscribed, so you better write it up now...

ok the carb is mounted I almost have the fuel line done, then wire the choke, plug the 400 vacuum lines, then fire her up. hopefully sometime today she will be running again

Good luck,

Good luck mate, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Post video of it running!

Can't wait to see your progress!

FYI, Racer Walsh and others sell a "cannon" intake manifold for the 2.0/32-36 or 38-38 weber combo. I think it's like $250 or something. Just saying, in case you're not able to get it running right on the stock manifold you still have that option.

At any rate, good luck and remember- lots and lots (and lots) of pictures (and videos)! I'll hopefully be going a similar route with my 2.3 here in the near future- as soon as I get some other things sorted out first. I'm either going 32/36 or 38/38 on a modded lower EFI intake or going the opposite direction and adding a MAF and going megasquirt/SEM using an EEC-IV computer. Good luck!

I had a fuel inj. manifold and adapter plate in my possesion(?)but it was for a holley 2 barrel and I decided against it cause I wanted a progressive 2 barrel for better mileage.so I traded it away I am wishing now I would have kept it.:bawling:

Silly man...... you only gain that kind of HP from NOS stickers and V-TECH badges !

You'd be better of throwing on a thrush sticker, and painting camo leaves on it.
That combination will give you unlimited HP providing you let it rust a little before hand and slap on a wing above the tailgate.
