I cracked fill hose pipe, UPDATE Fixed

Ok, using the suggestions here on replacing the hose I ended up cracking the hard plastic pipe. It's about 2-3" long. Now what? Well I'm thinking of making repairs using fiberglass and resin. Familiar with it becasue made repairs to my boat. Another option is purchase one off the several ebay stores. The problem is they all say it will only fit the fleetside 6 footbed.

So the big questions is: This one is 7ft. What would be the difference?

Thanks

you will be spinning your wheels trying fiberglass and resin because it won't stick to plastic, that's why any tools you use for fiberglass are made of plastic. i can check around to see if anything is available, or your local parts house might have some kind of plastic mend

I dont think it being cracked like that would be a problem seein theres a hose that goes around it that leads to the same place.

Can't use fiberglass. Thanks on that. Not sure were to find somone to weld plastic. I'm going to phoenix this weekend and there is a good truck pic a part. I'll have to hit.
Still wondering if the fill hose for a 6ft bed would fit a 7fter.:D

JB WELD IT, JB WELD WILL FIX ANYTHING:woot:

+1 on the jb weld

Good ideas, I'll post up on my results.

epoxy may work too.

Hello

See if that pce is HDPE plastic or similar. if it is you can melt it back together with an old butter knife that is head but torch or stove. This is how I fixed my dads dodge air box that was broken. I got extra plasic from an old oil funnel that I had laying around. I would not use jb weld on plastic it might let go after some hard driving.

igiveup
