I can't stay away from fords


The best upgrade you can possibly do to that thing is a T5 swap. I've done 3 AOD to T5 swaps.......very beneficial! The car will thank you.
 
Ya but like auto cars. My tuck is a stick and that plenty for me. I'm lazy I guess. I'm going to keep it I guess really like it. I would trade it for a BII if somehow I got offered one.

Going to get windows tinted asap and keep an eye out for some cheap gt40 heads.

I love how easy it is to get parts for it. There plenty of fourm sites for it but no site that i like as much as this.

the t5 is definitely better then a stock aod.

but uhh.. a properly constructed aod will embarass a t5. but your looking at 3 grand to get one to that point...

and a tremec really is the best way to go imo if your swapping trannies

These came on 5.0 96-97 Explorers if you didn't know already. The 98-01 have GT-40P heads, which I have on my Mustang. They have a different plug angle, so you have to get GT-40P specific headers or do like I did and use a shorty plug in cylinder 7 and use Chevy plug wires (90 degree boot).
