I cant identify some things

My 86 didn't come with air but didn't that era of car come with a solenoid on the throttle that electrically raises the idle when you turn on the air?

Only on carbureted vehicles.

I actually adjusted the idle screw just a tad, and its running 100% better. I can run the A/C while sitting, accelerating in first is no longer frightening. no more problem with performance after running it for a while. I am going to continue working on the rest of the components, but at least I have a drivable vehicle again.

When its 110 outside, it sucks biking to work.

Idle with AC on now sits at about 400-500RPM without ac 750-800RPM I do not know what is normal, but its staying cooler since it is not running at 150 RPM with the A/C on.

Do you know how old the plug wires and the PCV are replace them so you know..

Stock, from what it looks like. Wires and Plugs are definitely on the list of replacement items.

Oh, THAT A/C solenoid. Not on FI models.

Ran in again today. she still running good, had a short sputter, but I am really thinking it is bad gas. Going to get new tires tomorrow and run her again on the highway for a while to see how she reacts :dunno:

Sounds like a good plan. Sometimes these things are hard to nail down online because we miss stuff we'd pick up on in person that just can't be communicated any other way.

Well, truck died on my on the way home, It started struggling so I pulled into a barnes and noble to let it "rest" before going home, and it completely died. So I just took it to the shop to let them nail the problem for me. I am tired of throwing parts, while needed, but arent the right ones.

At least your fuel pump didn't leave you sitting on the side of the road next to a "No Parking" sign.

it did actually leave me in a red zone, mid turn in a parking lot. me and my 2 little sisters had to push it to a parking space. then use the toad equipment to tow it home. I knew buying one with the folding toad equip would come in handy!
