I’m at a loss lol… 98 3.0 manual
It’s hard to explain but when I let off the throttle to coast my truck still accelerates for 5-10 seconds before actually coasting, I have replaced iac, tps, and I checked to make sure the throttle is closing all the way(it is) I’m not sure what else could cause this, maybe I got a bad tps and the pcm is adding more fuel bc it thinks the throttle is open? Idk. any ideas?

Also it doesn’t have any vacuum leaks

Is the cable and all the linkage moving freely? Clean and lube the thtottle to make sure it’s not sticking?

Hi again Ruby! Hey man.......A bigger return spring. TPS are junk, try one from a junkyard maybe. There not made to break so often.

>>Got to be a very small worn out spot in the throttle body, doesn't take much that holds up the complete closing of the "butterfly" Common issue. Look closely grasshopper. The butterfly shaft will need to shift to one side to close all the way because the butterfly is hitting the throttle body where it's worn it's self a new spot to hang up. I believe the worn throttle bode interfering with the butterfly is the issue.

Being OBD II...

View some live data while it happens.

No mention of DTC'S??

It sounds like a vacuum leak... just saying.

Any air being bypassed around the throttle plate will raise idle speed. Whether it's a bent or worn throttle shaft/plate or an actual leak. The throttle plate hanging up should be identifiable in scan tool data.

Take a look at the throat of the throttle body too. Build up around the throttle happens over time and can cause the throttle plate to hang up and stick. Brake cleaner and a nylon brush usually will clean it up. Carburetor cleaner is considered better and less aggressive.

I had a too lean for both banks, I got that figured out it was the pcv valve, but after I got that fixed it still continues to do it, I’ve done multiple smoke tests and nothings leaking. I cleaned the entire throttle body to damn near perfect I spent like 2 hours just going at it I’ll try and grab a tps from a junkyard, and maybe a throttle body too.
