HVAC guts swap?

Is it possible to swap the HVAC guts from say...a 94 into a 98?

I hate the vacuum controls, and would love to go back to cables. My heater core is dying, when I have to pull it all apart I might as well fix it forever.

Any ideas?

Dude, everyone is trying to go the other way and swap to the better looking dash and here you are trying to go back in time

Seriously, dunno if it can be done, as the internals are TOTALLY different... and vacuum is present in the 94 and earlier models in the mixer doors. After I'm done fixing my engine-drivetrain I am planning on overhauling my A/C system, I'll take pics of the under dash stuff then if you're interested and still can't find an answer to your question

They changed the firewall for the airbox somewhere around the time they changed dashes.

My '85 is all manual, not sure when they started switching to vacuum.
