got an 1987 nissan truck with a 3.0 v6, tbi. its not running right, its throwing codes for a bad fuel injector, actualley the circuit is open? i guess. if i understand it. any ways...

started it today, looked down the throttle body, the passenger side injector is spraying continiously from what i can see, and the drivers side one isnt spraying at all... from what i can see. (not a whole lot to see..)

i read somewhere that the injectors are supposed to flash on and off and make a noise? i couldnt hear anything.. the truck has no exhaust. what do you guys think? im trying to find out which is the bad one without buying an ohm meter thingy.

thanks guys

an ohm meter thingy.

And yer done.

You won't find it without one, you might not find it with one.

I'm not familiar with the Nissan system, but it sounds like you have a 2-injector TBI system. If so, the one not spraying is probably the issue.

well i originally didnt want to cut this thing up, but seeing as how things change, i need to fix it cheap as possible. but i really should buy an ohms thing, needed one lots. i read you can hook up a light bulb to the sensors, and itll flash... idk, im trying to order the complete injection system for 60$ from a j.y. and hopefully just replace both injectors.

if one is spitting i atleast know the truck will run on that one injector, so ill replace the not working one. if it persists i can replace the other one

Harbor Freight sells a pretty decent "ohms thing" for under 10 dollars. It's not a Fluke by any means, but it will fit what you are doing rather well.

Hell.... it's on sale for $4.99 right now.

Yep! If you plan on reaching adulthood....you need 2 things....................................................................................................................................................................and one of them is an Ohhhhhhhhhmmmm meter!

So what is the second thing? I have the ohm meter, but I want to make sure I have the second thing too.

I would hate to find out that for the last 20+ years I really haven't made it to adulthood.

Sweet. I got mine with a coupon for 3 or 4 dollars a couple years ago. It's the one I keep in my truck. I have a Craftsman that I use the most - but the HF meter works great.

Sent from a Commodore 64 using a 300 baud modem

i always wanted to be a man, so what is the 2nd thing?

oh wait, i think i need a ranger... right? with a 4.0!!!

anyways ill let you guys know what happens. maybe one of you can use this inofrmation later in life.

I think the other thing is a voltmeter.

About the BFH... I had a pesky u-joint on my drivers side axle shaft i couldnt get out. after heating it up, quenching with pb blaster, and smashing with a 5 pound hammer in a vice with a punch for 15 minutes.. took my 20oz framing hammer 10 taps to get it out...
