I'm rebuilding and replacing wear items on my '91 Ranger. Just about have the LH beam & radius arm out. RH side removed. I pulled the shaft from the hub to slip joint on the RH side. The ujoint and shaft still off the RH side of the differential will come off but my day is done sp I'll proceed tomorrow. How does the ujoint & shaft come out of the RH side? See picture, does this clip need removed? Can I get to it easily? I've got to pull it because the u-joint is frozen solid, no movement at all.

Thanks,

3rd member must be removed from the beam and that C-clip taken off, just like a traditional rear end.

Most guys I know do that joint in the vehicle. Don't me ask how.

Actually, if you had it suspended with the tire off the ground, the shaft could be turned to allow you to knock the joint out one cap at a time. It'd be a PITA to do by yourself without a lift, but would be possible. Assuming there is enough room to swing a hammer.

i just rip the whole axle out and do the eliminator mod on most.

that way you can install a drain plug and radius relief the radius arm at the bolt area or do a double nut stud replacement and properly clean the differential and inspect it......fresh seals etc.
