Hey guys, I'm going to need to lift my front end by 2 inches, is there a safe and right way to do this? I want it to be reliable and not have any detrimental effects on other front end components. I've had a number of people tell me to just crank up the torsion bars and it'll be fine and give me the lift I need. However other people are telling me that if I do that then I'll trash my ball joints and bearings. Does anybody have any ideas? I can't even find any kits or anything for 2 inch lift in the front besides torsion keys. What do you guys think? Any advice or ideas? It's a 2005 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 with the Torsion bar front suspension and custom built leafs in the rear.

Crank the front and run the longer rancho part #RS5374 shocks to accommodate the difference in suspension height.

It is as reliable as you are going to get without going to a full on super lift kit for 4" of lift.

I can tell you I have run my 02 Ranger for 175K miles with a 1.5" torsion bar lift and haven't had any problems with the suspension or drive axles. It still has the original ball joints but the top ones are due for a replacement.

Another 1/2" lift may cause more wear but should not be that bad. As noted in the post above, you will have a problem hitting the extension stops on the shocks unless you get longer shocks than OEM.

Awesome thank you very much guys!!

Also get camber adjusting kit so otherwise you will eat the tires and bearings
