got a 98 Ranger. replaced the drivers seat with a new one. the old one got tore up where your left butt cheek hits the seat every time you get in, smashing the fabric against that round metal joint that sticks up. this new one is getting started on the same thing. any tips on how to protect it so this doesn't happen?

It's kinda what happens.

Maybe try a seat cover... should help over the long haul.

I honestly think the only way to prevent it is to not use it.

That man is very wise. Good advice.

Or, maybe if your butt cheeks weren't so rough...

I don't wear pants in the truck, that helps
cab is like a Video call, windshield and side windows, can't see anything below the waist, so just wear a shirt

And use drive-thru's :)

Sliding on it when you get in and out is what tears it. Dont do that and youll be fine.

Just buy an oe. Style cover. Replace every few years.
