How many miles on your 3.0 ?

1991 Ranger v-6 5 spd

I just purchased a 1991 Ranger supercab with 62k original miles.
Can't find with same year with lower mileage.

bought my 06 5spd on dec 29th 2008 with 43k. not even a year later and its got almost 80k. did a seafoam treatment and switched to synthetic oil (mobile 1) at 55k. surprisingly it gave me 70km more out of a tank. just did front pads and rotors a couple months ago. no real issues, well.....
my only problem was one ford dealers service. brought it in under warrenty 3 times complaining about an anoying squeek. the first time they replaced the right control arm. was charged the $100 deductable. sound went away for a day then came back. seconde time they found no issue. was charged nothing. 3rd time they replaced a balljoint. was again charged $100 deductable. the 3rd time as soon as they finished i rocked the truck back an forth and guess what noise was still there. went back in and had a few choice words to say since id paid twice and still had annoying squeek. a different mechanic came out as i rocked the truck back and forth making the noise. he pointed at the rubber bushing, turns out a little rust and a rubber bushing were the issue. when i looked closely at the bushings near the wheel they were covered with spray lube. glad they missed a spot. yea... they needlessly replaced parts and tried to cover up the noise with spray lube which is why the noise came back so soon. needless to say i went back in with alot of choice words. after threatining to go to a local radio station that enjoys publisizing crooked shops, i was fully refunded for both times i paid. if they had used white lithium grease like i did i never would have known, as that solved the problem.
other then the dealer i wont go back to, im impressed. it gets great mileage rides great and deals with my constant speeding and high rpms. and i love the clutch on the rangers its idiot proof. handles alot of abuse. tried teaching the girlfriend to drive stick. lol. wont do that again.

162k on the body, 20k on the engine. thats right, the PO killed a 3.0:icon_surprised: how does one accomplish this? thank god this guy isnt a tank pilot in the army. if he can kill a 3.0, the abrams m1a1 doesnt stand a chance. he had just had it done 10k before i got it, and showed me the papers.

bought my 94 automatic almost 2 years ago with 150,00 on it now ive got 187,000 only thing i had to do was take off the rigged 4 cylynder alternator

I have 190K on my 2000. but i have put 4 trans in it the last one i custom build and have not had a prob with it (even after pulling a 79 f350 4X4 on a 3/4 ton tailor at 80mph for 4 hours hehe) its been a good truck but now its time for 5.0L swap and some dana 80s

you pulled another vehicle with a 3.0? you must have 13:1 gears in your diff lol. how bad was it?

I have a 93 ranger 3.0 with 267,000 miles on it. motor hasn't been touch except for tune-up and oil change every 5,000 miles plus a water punp at 168,000. . had to replace ac compresser years ago

was not bad, and no i have the 3. 73 in my truck but the engine and trans r not stock. i build both for having the $hit drove out of them. ENGINE = Port and polished heads decked .002"(just to have a clean, flat head), internally balanced crank, stock rods a pistons, Decked the block .004" using a thinner head gasket and upping the valve springs to 100 pounds(was like putting a cam in it), Trans(4r44e) = just used parts out of a 4r55e(its a beefier model of the 4r44e) and used Kevlar clutches

tough engine. just lacks the low end grunt. I wonder if turboing one to produce about 250 lb ft down around 1800-2000 is feasible? or will it blow the block apart?

no to get the torque in to the low end u change the valve springs, and port the heads. the 3.0l is a good motor i have not been able to blow it up and im trying really really hard to so i have a resin to do the exploder 5.0l swap to it lol

I have a 92 3.0 XLT regular cab long bed with around 158,xxx on it. I have owned this truck for almost fifteen years. She only had 15,058 when I bought her, so I know the entire history of this truck, with the exception of the first two years. This truck and I have been all over the country (mostly West Coast) while I was in the Navy. Hell, she's even spent three days at sea on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier. We've never been over the Golden Gate Bridge, but we've been under it! The only "emergency" maintenance I've had to do with the truck, besides the occasional starter, is I had to replace the rear main seal and the tranny front pump seal in 2001 when I was driving from Seattle to central IL. Thank GOD I had gotten away from Seattle and was in the middle of nowhere when it happened. The little garage that fixed it only charged $40/hour labor rates. Other than that, my little Ranger is my baby, and as someone else noted, I wouldn't trade her for the world! :icon_thumby:

:headbang:

Well, i started this post about 2.5 yrs ago on this site at about 147k miles on the clock and updated at milestones. Today was a milestone. Even though non-technical, it is informative and i hope is well-received.

I rolled 205k on my '94 this morning. :icon_thumby:

Stats: '94 XLT 3.0L, 5-spd, 2wd long-bed. No modifications. I purchased mine in Nov '01 with 70k miles and to date have replaced 1 clutch, 1 set of brake pads, 1 IAC, 1 water pump & radiator, 2 sets of tires, and lots and lots of oil filters and oil.

So, how many miles on your 3.0 ?:icon_bounceblue:
