How many CFM's to easily cool the engine?

First off it's a 1992 2wd

Right now it has a single 700 CFM pusher but still gets warm at idle. I'd like to either mount a puller or upgrade but I'm still using the stock alternator as well.

Is there a preferred electric fan swap?

Taurus fans are well liked by many, seem to fit well, and are readily available.

+2 on the Taurus fan, I have had one on my truck for years, I have a Delta current controller and have had zero issues

Yes, you need to create some airflow over the condensor when the AC is on, I run my fan on the low speed with the AC on and its ice cold and have never had an issue with it that way.

E-fan needs a Relay to work, temperature activated, a manual switch is just asking for trouble.
If you do alot of 4 wheeling and water crossings you can add an off switch for e-fan to keep engine bay drier, and you put a BIG RED light on that switch so you know when it is off, lol.

If you have AC then you add e-fan relay activation to AC clutch activation, how you do that is based on your e-fan relay setup and AC activation circuits

Temp & AC needs are all controlled by this controller, I have tried other controllers this one is by far the best I have seen. I have also done the seperate relay setup for temp & AC, this blows all other methods out of the water, if you want something trouble free.

All done automatically for you

Factory mechanical fans will move a few thousand cfm, I try to keep that in perspective when selecting fans. Taurus fans work great or dorman 620118

What engine do you have? Why go away from the mechanical fan?

Thanks for link!

Your welcome, it may take a month to get one if he does not have any built but they work great and he has very good customer service for any questions
