How far can i extend my radius arms. i see people are extending them 15 inches over stock and i also saw someone with them 24 inches over stock. is there any bonus to having them longer than the 15 inches over stock? also i keep hearing about build camber into the arms i dont really understand how im suppose to do that. im planning a 6 or 8 inch lift and i have an extra set of radius arms laying around and i need a project.

12" and you can mount them before the trans x-member. 15" and you can incorporate the mounts into a trans x-member. More then that and your past the engine crossmember, and start to kill any BOA you once had.

Break Over Angle - If you were to make your arms to go back further than the tranny crossmember, your BOA (the red lines) gets conflicted with. (This also depends on how large of a tire your running)

so stick with around 15 inches over stock with 35s thats what i want to run eventually?

That should work great. That is what CopyKat is running I believe, you will need to do something with your tranny crossmember...

I am at 12" over stock and 33"s, with the stock tranny crossmember.

was there suppose to be a picture in your first post because it didnt show up if so. i was thinking of running about 20 inches over or to in between the tranny cross member and tcase skid

ok that pictures isnt there. so i have a couple questions

1. how will that kill the BOA?

2. if i do make them a little longer how will that affect normal driving?

the arm hangs below the frame.....longer the arm....the more in the middle of the frame it'll be hanging....the worse the chances are to be highcentered on them.

i want build a custom cross member so that i can make the arms up high in the frame rails so that they dont hang down. i want to use heim joints.

Good luck with that. Unless you do a drive line tuck and have center mount arms. The picture is there in the article that BB2 posted. It's the Break Over angle.

My rad arms are tucked as High as I can get them with bushings. Heims are over rated! And they still hang low. I'm running 35's and have no issues other than rubbing on the arms at full lock.

alright thanks guys its going to be a trial and error deal but i wont be using expensive dom tubing for mock up

how much longer than stock are super lift or skyjacker or any other aftermarket arm?
