Hello everyone, I have a 1992 Ford ranger with a 2.9 liter engine and I have been having some transmission trouble. When I let the vehicle get warm, the transmission starts leaking fluid from the front part of the transmission. There is no leaking from the pan, only from the front of the transmission has the leaking. I was told it was a seal that needed to be replaced, and I got the seal, but I'm not sure if I'll need to take the whole transmission out, or do I just need to take just the front part off? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You will have to pull the transmission. Here's some more information:

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy...
I don't know why but that popped in my head when I saw this thread.
