How do you like your 5g?

2 tons moving 10mph is a lot of force. Im sure theres a mathematic formula to find out how thick of steel a bumper would need to be to not deform on impact... but im bad at math so someone else can figure it out lol.

If it cant withstand banging a tree at 5-10mph with no damage its not worthy of being called a bumper.

And you've done that with a 2019 or 2020 Ranger?

Dunno about you but that is standard operating procedure when I test drive a vehicle. Scares the hell out of car salesmen but they get over it after awhile.

I guess as long as its got 30 USB ports and heated seats thats all the modern truck buyer cares about....and why we dont have real trucks any more.

It is either that or nobody ever cared about hitting trees at speed.

A local farmer was coyote hunting in his newer Super Duty. The thrill of the chase got the better of him (coyote hunters are weird) and he drove it off a terrace. He floated up and over the console (wasn't wearing a seatbelt) and when the truck landed he came down and broke his back on the console paralyzing himself. He had to steer it into a tree to stop it. Only damage to the truck was I think he broke the console... and it now has hand controls.

I usually hunt coyotes with my 22 mag...

I think he was pushing them to his group.

Its quite an operation when a big group sets up.

*up to 7500 for towing

3500 is kinda light for 83-11 Rangers.

I thought you were supposed to hunt coyotes with a large anvil?

3,500lbs is w/o towing package, 7,500lbs is w/. Towing package is less then $500, and you get a 7pin plug.

My 92F150 was only rated for 3,600 lbs with the manual transmission. 2011 tops out at 5,800lbs with auto and towing package.
