Houston, we've got a problem...

Was the compression good? That means less than 10% different from other cylinders (the actual number doesn't matter). If it wasn't, did a few squirts of 10W-30 in the spark plug hole lead to a better reading?

Compression was 180 on cyls 1,2,6; 165 on cyls 3 and 5 and 175 on cyl4. I didn't try putting oil into the combustion chamber yet.

Hey! No need to be sorry. Your heart is in the right place... and I appreciate all the help I can get. We will get this darned ranger back on the road... whatever it takes!

yes we will! :) too bad u had an obd2 scanner coulda got you one for $102 shipped brand new. and even if the check engine light isnt on if theres anything wrong it'll still pull it up.

I didn't realize an OBD2 scanner would work on an OBD1 engine/car. Maybe I'll still invest on it... since my new project will require a scanner as well.

wait. what year vehicle is it?

It won't. At least not meaningfully (you don't have "pending codes").

A "code reader" for your truck is a jumper wire.

Bergz0, which OBD-II scanner is this? That price is extremely low for a scanner, excepting the ones you have to plug into a laptop. And the big hint about model year is the three digit codes. Not P-codes. It's a 1993-94 SEFI OHV.

what year vehicle is it lol? is it before 96 or after 96?? beofre 96 is OBDI 96 and after is OBDII

and for the OBDII scanner. look a my for sale post. im selling them, if you want one let me no
