I recently bought a grant steering wheel to install on my 93 ranger. I took apart the steering wheel, put on the new one, hooked up the grant horn button and nothing. I took a tester and checked the wires going to that spring loaded contact that rubs the back of the plate on the steering wheel to make the horn blow, and no power. I don't know where to find the relay so I tried running a test wire from the battery and hooked it to the yellow and blue wire and for a minute the horn button worked when pressed....that is until the wire started to melt. I then went to advance and bought a relay for hooking up horns or lights and I can't even figure out how to make that work. Anyway...my thought is this. If all else fails just wire it up like you would one of those round black horn buttons you get at advance since the grant horn button has two terminals on it. How can I fix this problem....either the right way or just by running some extra wire and making the horn button work. I'm desperately needing some help before I lose my mind!
p.s. The factory horn was working fine up until I tried installing this one.

Did you blow the fuse when you were replacing the wheel?

...until the wire started to melt...

This indicates something is overloaded. Make sure nothing's shorting to ground. You should have 3 clock-spring terminals (I think). One is grounded. Don't use that one at all.
