Hood Latch cable and clip - DRIVING ME CRAZY

Any help will be amazing

I've locked my hood already once trying this.

New hoodd latch cable assembly.

I also bought (15) the hood latch clip.

But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to use it.

The cable loop latches onto the red circled part but just cannot seem to figure it out

When the cable handle is pulled the cable is drawn towards the drivers side. This action rotates the hood latch counter clockwise, bringing the "U" shaped, hood loop catching mechanism upwards, releasing the hood catch loop...hood pops up onto the, behind the grill, secondary release lever.

The functionality I have already down - my initial ask was not clear

I am looking to "lock" the loop of the cable onto the hook of the latch via the clip that is called out as "15" from the LMC website - I just can't figure out how "15" clip is installed.
