What do you guys think about the HID kits you can get off of ebay for the 87 Rangers? I am thinking about ordering the kit for my truck, what is the best one the 6000k,8000k,10000k, or what? If anyone here on the forum has the kit on their truck post some pictures up. Thanks Brandon

around 4500-6000 is the best for the whitest light. any higher than 6k is blue tinted.
kits off ebay? well, they ain't the best but, they'll do.

I kinda want the blue tint in a way i think i'll go with the 8000k, but where can i get the best kit at?

for a kit on the 87 ranger, you'll probably have to go with ebay. is it true HID? what's the link to it?

of course the higher the wattage, the more it "whiten" the lights a little.

35 watt 8k is gonna be slightly blue..

the kit looks ok.
at least it looks like it has a cover over the bulb.

however, just make sure that you aim the headlights LOWER than normal so you don't blind people. HIDs in not true HID housings are way bright for other people

I want them kinda blue, and i appreciate it man, i will make sure i point them downward.

does that HID kit have high beam and low beam?
some don't...

does that matter to you?

yeah, it shows

this HID kit is for low beam

7th one down in the description shows

I am looking to get mine from DDM tuning

Just have to buy non sealed beam headlights first. Get those from LMC or eBay and use the DDM kit. I've used ddm's kit in my hella's and love it. But it's gonna take a lil more money.

I've looked into it. Since I already have 9004 housings. Would cost about $70 to get the DDM kit. 6k. 55 watt. High and low beam.

If you get a 6k set it will appear blue at the lense but put out a fairly white light. I run 35w 6k's in my chev and they're wicked... I can't wait to get a good set of 55w 6k's and a proper set of housings for the ranger and my dodge when funds are available.

You know blue from aftermarket lights is illegal in most states, right?

Not sure where you are, just sayin'.

I'm probably not even going to get hi/lo...I think 55w would be bright enough for me. Plus it seems like a pain to install a hi/lo kit.

its not that bad.. plus even for Mississippi laws and our basic inspection, i have to have hi/low headlights.

its only like $10 more? i'm debating on HIDs or just silverstar's.. i dont NEED more light than my basic 9004's.. i just want a whiter light.
