Hi Ranger Station - New Member with 83 Diesel Ranger

Hi everybody, just picked up an 83 Ranger with the Perkins diesel engine. Some rust on the truck but overall nice shape and runs well.

Would cruise down the highway at 70mph when bringing it home, 65mph seem to the sweet spot for it.

Will have a lot of questions, looking forward to it!

Scarce as hen's teeth. A guy shows up at the Ford Nationals every year with one that has a diesel AND factory A/C.
Be advised that the diesel uses a different transmission and parts are pretty much unavailable for the tranny if you have any problems with it. Shift gently.

I don't have moar pics but I grabbed some from the CL ad -
Right now I'm trying to find the Perkins serial # on the engine so I can figure out what parts are available. Is Rare Rangers & Broncos the right forum for that?

And why is the forum posting multiple copies of each image.....
