Hi Everyone =) I have a tire question

lots of people run 33/12.5 on an 8 inch rim with no trouble so your 32/11 should fine on a 7.5

There is a recommended rim width for different tire sizes. The manufacturer normally lists that info in with the tire specifications on their web site.

wider than your rim, probably not toooo wide though.

you want the rubber to stick out to protect the rim from hitting stuff and getting deformed or broken. some tires have a bead protecting lip specifically to help protect from damage.

you can have to wide a tire on a rim but the tire place that mounts it will normally alert you that you tire is to wide for the rim
I called the tire place that the previous owners bought those four 32 inch tires from and they said its do able but not preferable because those 32's are to wide for those size rims so they will not fit properly ?

Your the first person that i remember i think saying that you want the rubber to stick out.

My 32's were made in 2009 and put on in 2010

you should be able to fairly inexpensively get an 8" rim if you are wanting to keep using those tires. or, conversely, keep your rims and get 31s instead

jeep guys run 32s on stock wheels all the time, 33s also. most yj and tj wheels are 7.5 with some special edition wheels being 8 inches wide. i think some older yj and especially cj wheels were only 7 inches wide.

as mentioned above, see if the tire manufacturer lists what the min and max wheel width is for those tires.

I don't want to get a 8" rim because im a stock truck type of guy and those 32s are to wide. I will get my 7.5" rims and should i get 265/75/r15 tires ? would i notice a difference between 265 and 31s ?

The side walls will have more flex to them. Probably more than what the manufacturer wants their tires to have.

The difference between the two sizes are negligible. So it is highly unlikely you would notice a difference.

Tire Size Converter

the tire size you are wanting shows to be a 30.6x10.4 so it will be a hair smaller than a 31. its going to be your choice on which you like more.

her is the page to show a visual comparison between your current 32s and the size you wish to get now

IIRC Certain Econoline rims are wider then F series rims...if you did decide to go wider

Does anyone know what the factory brand of tires my 1993 ford f-150 5.8 v8 351w 4wd originaly had on when my truck was new. I would like to put factory brand tires on =)
Do you also know what the factory spare tire size was ? my spare tire is 29 years old do you think i should get a new spare tire ?

P.s. Im 32 years old with mild autism and i am proud to be autistic =)

Thank You,
Gary DuBois

you will probably have to find an old brochure that talks about the truck, unless someone has really good memory for it. possibly good year because isn't that around the time when they had that explorer tire issue?
