Hey Ford, Your competitor did an about face!

I don't think that I would buy one.I never really liked chevys that much.I would buy a tacoma first, but that won't happen either my ranger has a lot of life left still.

I like Colorado's... Our farm has had two of them at our disposal and I think they drive well. Pull pretty decent for what we're asking of them too.

I could be wrong here...but when I was working for the GM dealership in town, I could SWEAR that the canyon/colorado were built by Toyota just from the feel of them.

I'm assuming by this comment that GM also had plans to kill the Colorado? Maybe this will fuel the Ranger fire back up. Is there a damn petition somewhere? I wanna sign it if there is. Much like when the 89 Probe was going to be the new Mustang. Ford listened! We ought to try at least.

I guess this will effect me in 20 years when Im looking for an old beater to build for a wheeler...

I am surprised Ford hasn't designed a small pickup on the same platform of the Escape.

isuzu? hell, thats what the chevy luv was! that means the next ranger will be a mazda and the next dakota will be a mitsubishi! i was hoping for something positive from mahindra, a compact diesel pickup, but it was only speced with a automatic and it doesnt look like its coming anytime soon.

I THINK it's an Isuzu engine and GM makes the pickup. I could be wrong about that.

I'm willing to believe that. And until a Colorado owner gets on TRS and proves us wrong, we should just stick with that. :D

its identical to the isuzu d-max. so my guess is: its made by isuzu and shared with gm.

Per wikipedia:

Isuzu Motors America discontinued the sale of passenger vehicles in the United States effective January 31, 2009. The company explained to its dealers that it had not been able to secure replacements for the Isuzu Ascender and Isuzu i-Series that would be commercially viable. Isuzu sold 7,098 cars in the year 2007........This action did not affect Isuzu's commercial vehicle or industrial diesel engine operations in the United States.

Well the US was thinking about bringing in the Global ranger but never went any further I don't think GM will do it either. Boring People would rather have a v8 truck that is huge and very customizable that gets about the same mileage as a small pickup... I personally don't see spending twice as much for a compareable larger truck when the small one fufills all my needs and space issues.
