I just did a TCC lock-up solenoid, and now my truck has a huge hesitation befor it goes into gear, what could it be??? The valve body gasket the one thats thinner than paper looked old and had small cracks can this cause hesitation before it goes into gear?? i really appreciate any suggestions); What Im basically wondering I guess is what are the most common causes of hesitation befor it goes into gear, you know you have to bring the rpm way up to get it to go into gear, if you put it in drive and wait it will take a while but it will go into gear than you can drive. but its really bad to have to rev way up every time I brake, just to get this trans in gear. Does the A4LD in 1985 have a vacuum line running to the transmission from the carb or intake manifold???
Again thank you very much!

Check fluid level. You put the O-rings on the filter ?? You changed the valvebody gaskets ?? Or did you re-use them ?? ( a no-no :nono:)

ya the vaccum line goes to the vaccum modulator ( passenger side of tranny) sometimes these get clogged on the a4lds and cause late shifts or rough downshifts. its held in by a nut just above it. theres a small rod inside the modulator which you need to keep to put in the new one if you replace it. they are about 15 bucks from napa
