So I finally got the PCM ,two weeks after it was supposed to be here. I hesitantly installed it, being very careful of static electricity. I used a wrist ground strap and wore rubber gloves as well, I didn't want to take any chances.....
After installing the PCM and putting everything back together I crossed my fingers and turned the key.....she fired right up and ran like a champ. I metered every circuit possible while the truck was running and could not find any excessive voltage. I used the truck to plow during our most recent snow storm and had no problems. She has about ten hours of run time on this new PCM.
So I guess the conclusion to this thread is that the PCM or more specifically it's inner parts wore out. I wish for other members or new members sake I had found a smoking gun that would help others in the future but...I didn't.
I would like to send a BIG THANK YOU to those who replied to my post and supplied such good information on this. THANKS!!!
