The thing about a new part in a box is that you do not know if it will work. With a junk part, you know that it worked at one point.

Yes, I know this, but it worked flawlessly before I hit this bump, and still turns on just like it did, maybe fuel filter? Also, wondering if there is something that is common to go out with the wiring in these in similar occurrences?

If you have spark then the rotor would have to be turning.

Hey, with it being a coil pack instead of distributor and rotor, would there be spark with a broken timing chain? The "engine turning over but not all of it" thing just sounds like a broken timing chain to me. Hope it isn't of course. Or have we ruled that out?

Was also thinking if you could get a socket on the front of the crank you could see if the normal resistance is there. If it's easier to turn than it should be that might be an indication of the problem.

Will definitely try this!! I havent been abl;e to the past couple of days, just been super busy. I definitely hope it isnt timing chain either but if it is, then junkyard here I come! Unless anyone in mn or midwest wants it?

I really hope it's not the timing chain. For your sake and for the truck. But what you described with the partial turning, like not everything is turning that's supposed to be...I can't think of anything else that would do that.

And let the scrap yard be a last resort if you can. If the rest of the truck is in decent shape I'm sure someone would see an engine swap/custom build project in it.

Yeah I hope not too but its really seemin like it. As far as junkyard goes I either need to sell it or junkyard will have it. I need a vehicle and can't have this one just layin around. So if any of you guys know anyone interested let me know! She was a great runner when was running, not the prettiest but definitely a trooper. New plugs wires and fuel pump in it aswell!
