Hey
Just Installed a Dana 30 High Pinion in my truck and I am in a need if anyone has ever found a cheap and easy way to use a cable instead of the vacume disconnect found on the dana 30

Need a quick reference on how just for about a month till I get the Warn manual conversion kit

thank you

I would leave it locked but i am going to drive it every day

Please help could not find and related material

Leave it locked. It wont hurt it. The newer D30s had no CAD...

Eats up my fuel mileage

i find this funny......

if ya worried bout fuel mileage why do a straight axle swap????

if ya gonna put any tires bigger than stock, ya gonna lose fuel mileage anyways.... and like ya said just a month, the money ya spend on a cable setup would prolly be more than the mileage ya suffer....

just my 2 cents

l8r, John

Did you do a leaf spring set-up or coil set-up? If a leaf what leafs did you use? If coils nevermind then.

I highly doubt it eats up that much fuel mileage... I'm pretty sure someone posted that when Ford went to a live-axle set up on the Ranger they tested and noticed a 0.1 MPG decrease...

It wont eat up your mileage. The 2000 expedition and the 96 and up explorers with the automatic 4WD are always locked, they release the 4wd at the transfer case just like a hummer, I have the expedition and at 55 on the highway no a/c I can get 22 MPG. It has a 5.4l.

Yep, mileage doesn't go so well with straight axle swaps, big tires and a lift. Lock it out so it's permanently engaged. It'll be fine as long as your driveshaft angles are in proper order.

Thank you
I will Just Lock it then

I am planning on going with the Warn Ford Manual Locking hub conversion

I am using Leaf spring with a High pinion Dana 30

I bought new stock jeep leaf and made all the bracket and did the axle over and also a converted the shackle to swing at the rear .

I am going to be posting a complete build as soon as I am done in the next week or two

I have built this from snadblasted Frame up
Use to be an Airbagged lowers 2wd

Everone will get to see
Start jan 1 2009
