I put in a stereo a while back but I didn't hook up the memory wire, so I decided to try and figure out what was going on, it took me all day to figure out a fricken fuse was blown but I didn't have any money so I took a fuse out of the 33 spot and put it into the 20 spot and everything worked so I thought it was good. When I went to start it I heard a grinding metal on metal sound so I killed it, then went to start it again but this time I let out on the clutch and it stopped but every time I push in the clutch it does it, It's also got a puddle underneath the transmission that I have no idea what it is, sorry if it sounds like I'm rambling but idk what to do, and I just bought this truck and I really don't wanna fawk this one up like I did with my last truck. thoughts? advice?

What color is the fluid?

Could be anything, could be your throw-out bearing, that's what it sounds like.

you know the sound old worn out caster wheels make when you spin them? is it kinda like that?
eh, figure it out, let me know, might be able to help you work on it.

I figured it out. I mixed up some wires in the dash and the starter motor was kicking on when I pushed in the clutch. I still have no idea what the fluid is from.

I...you...that...

That is the most amazing explanation i have ever seen.

u deserve a good old e-slap u know. wires dont mix up, and even worst, not on an FX4.

take it for a fluids check on the tranny. or maybe the spinning starter cleaned it self from mud/water from a previous wheeling

yeah still not sure what the hell that happened but I fixed it! sorta, idk if I have airbags anymore or not...

This is like the thought process of my girlfriend when she tries to cook...except you're going to burn something a little more expensive than hamburger meat.

if the airbag light isnt flashing with the truck running or u dont hear a series of beeps while running from a recent start, the airbags are fine.
check if both lights go on when u put the ignition too.

and stop pulling fuses randomly.

the light is flashing, but I put fuses in wherever I could put one

oh god... i feel bad for whoever is next to wrench on that thing

and look in the owners manual and put the correct ones in the correct places, there is a diagram there, ya kno.

yep, thats how i fixed the mess my brothers truck had when he got it.
a removed CEL light both airbag lights blown and random fuses blown and removed.

Man, after reading this I feel like a pro! Just buggin you, everyone has to learn somehow. Hopefully everything is reversible. If its not... usually you will learn faster
