I picked up a 6" suspension lift the other day off of craigslist for $250 and the seller didn't know too much about it as it wasn't his truck. It seems to have all of the brackets, but I really don't know which brand it is. It may be a longshot but maybe someone can tell by looking at it. It came with skyjacker hydro 7000 front shocks so the whole kit may be skyjacker.

Also, I'm not really sure if the shocks are any good. I am able to move the piston in and out with a decent amount of resistance, but they do not rebound when compressed, but that may just be the nature of these shocks.

Another thing, will I need longer brake lines running 31's with 6" of lift? My truck is an 85 4x4.

Judging by the pictures do I need any parts aside from maybe some fasteners? I know I need U-Bolts and rear shocks.

looks like an old skyjacker kit to me.

you need rear shocks, u-bolts and extended brake lines to complete it. plus the hardware

And take those goofy ass rubber spring spacers out of there.....

Gas charged shocks do, like the bilsteins on my superduty.

huh, guess we learn something new everyday :D, but those bilstiens are also pretty expensive. you dont usually get thoes with a lift kit.

but you got a killer deal.

Yeah if its gas charged they do, like when my Bilsteins smashed my two fingers in the lower shock mount and cut them up pretty good during install :bawling:

Looks like an old Skyjacker kit. Ditch the rubber makeshift spacers. All it needs is hardware :icon_thumby:

um? shocks NEVER rebound when compressed

Guess everybody already beat me to it! Fox's also rebound! They can be a real PITA to install depending on the valving!

About the brake lines: Does anyone know of a way to modify the factory lines to get them to reach? The reason I ask is the flexible brake line on my passenger side is completely stripped where it attaches to the hard brake line, making removal damn near impossible. I was thinking of maybe cutting the rubber hoses and adding a 6" section with hose fittings and clamps, but that may just be a recipe for disaster. :dunno:

i wouldnt cut them. this isnt your coolant system that you're extending, it's the thing that makes you not slam into other things b/c you cant slow down your truck. you're asking to hurt/kill you or someone else.

you can go to the tech library and there is an article on extending the lines, should work fine for you. i've also heard that you can use f250 lines, but i dont know which ones.

You might have to cut the hard line and re-flare it, but that's a pain too.

Also get rid of the welded double stacked blocks. Either buy lift leafs springs or do a rear shackle flip:icon_welder:

i need those brackets...lol

I tell you what. I'll make you a deal. Find me a HPD44, narrow it, warn premium hubs, JD long arms, frame brackets & tranny crossmember, and I will give you all my TTB stuff :thefinger: Shipping's gonna be a beezy :icon_twisted: But I'd be willing to do a straight trade!!!
