HELP ASAP! Truck Won't Start!

I have a 99 Ranger, 91k, V6 4.0..

I have been getting a code P1131.. HO2S Lean (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
It's not the O2 Sensor, so I've been troubleshooting trying to figure it out.


I was troubleshooting the MAF just as the book and the site say to, and the truck died. It will not start for anything now.

Any ideas?

make sure you dont have vacuum leaks and make sure the air cleaner tube is not rip. how does your truck run

does it even try to turn over or no noise at all?

how do you know it isn't the O2 sensor? I'm assuming you replaced it already?

It does turn over... I've checked out the O2, ICM, I've also checked for fuel and spark.. It's getting both until after just a quick crank or two and then the theft system shuts down the spark.

When I hook up the OBD II reader, it can't scan the truck which has led me to the PCM. I'm pretty sure it's bad and everything is just going haywire since it isn't communicating back?

Any confirmations or objections?

sounds like you may have a bad key or other issue with the antitheft, did you try another key?
