I opened a PayPal balance account a few days ago. I went to Family Dollar and added money to this PayPal account.
Yesterday and today both I've tried to make in game purchases on a video game I'm playing and the game asks me for my email address. " I only have one email address. " I put in my email address and I keep getting a message saying,
" Something went wrong. "
.

Can anyone help me.

Guessing you have an account for the game tied to the same email as the paypal?

I only have 1 email account.
However the game it's self has only asked me for my email address when I'm trying to mede an in game purchase.
It has a box the give choices on how to pay.
I click on the PayPal then it asked me for my email address.
I put in my email address then it tells me something went wrong.
I don't understand it.

It does show the account balance. Which does match the amount that I put on there at family dollar.

That's pretty strange... The game has to have some kind of account to associate you with your purchase. Maybe it uses the Google Account or Apple ID from your phone?

My only advice would be don't do it. Pay to win games and in game micro-transactions aren't worth paying for. That's just my opinion though.

I'd say that if you are going to do it, you are probably doing it the right way. Using a dedicated account with no actual connection to your normal bank account. Even if you get scammed/robbved they can only get what is available in the PP balance.

Probably either PP has blocked transactions from the games payment service for shady stuff, the game programmers have introduced a bug that they have not fixed yet, or a communications error between the games payment service and PP's system.

Agree with JoshT here -- especially his advice on playing "Pay-to-Win" games. They are notorious for scamming, but they are addictive.
I've had PP for years, if you're having issues connecting it is probably on the game side and not yours.

It’s probably an issue on the side of the game. Having an issue connecting to PayPal some reason.

For what it’s worth I also vote Nay on in game transactions. I stopped playing computer games years ago, in part because of all the in game transactions, especially for games I payed full price for.

Either sell me the whole game at once or give the game for free and make your money from cosmetic only stuff that does not effect the gameplay, ( I think League of Legends did a good job with this.)

Ive had paypal for 20+ years. It was necessary for Ebay. It was fine.

Recently it sucks. Kinda screws both buyers and sellers.

Also they used to be owned by ebay and recently separated. Everyone I know, including myself, ditched paypal first chance they got.

If you want a similar and reliable system, I suggest Venmo or Cashapp. They both seem to work fine and a lot of people use them.

Long story short, you got in at the wrong time, about 20 years too late...

I agree that PayPal keeps changing the rules to the benefit of them and the pain of users.

I think that your game account doesn't know that you have the PayPal account, there should be some way in the game account setup to tell it that you have the PayPal account. It may be that the passwords for each of those accounts must match, which is a really bad idea, imho.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner then this. I fell asleep and didn't hear my phone making noise.
I must have been sleeping pretty hard. I had a hard day yesterday anyways.

Now back to the issue of hand.

Most games I do play just for the fun of playing and do not make any in game purchases.
I keep seeing ads about getting money for playing games.

So the other day I decided I would look into that. So I first set up the PayPal account. Then I went the next day to Family Dollar and put money on the PayPal account.

Then I googled,
" How do I get paid for bata testing video games? ".
Google results then showed me a bunch of different sites that pay people to play video games.
I picked one and then downloaded the app for that company.

Added my info on the app. Then it gave me some games to choose from. I picked a game.
Read the instructions for downloading the game the way the company wanted me to which was through the app.
The instructions also gave me a list of tasks to do while playing the game.
So I downloaded the game though the app.
Which is what I was instructed to do.
Once I had the game downloaded and the app verified I had the game downloaded successfully through the app.
The instructions told me once I opened the game my account would be credited with one USD dollar.
For each thing I accomplished on the instruction sheet it gave me a different price for each task.
I'm now to the part where I have to make an " in game purchase " for the amount of $4.99 USD. " Once I make the purchase my account will be credited with $8.00 USD Dollars.

So in other words I make the purchase and I'm reimbursed my purchase price plus three dollars.
Witch means they pay me $3.00 dollars to make the purchase. After they reimburse me for my original purchase price.

However I can't seem to get this thing to understand I have a PayPal account.
My plan is to use the PayPal account just for playing games to make some money.

I truly believe I'M Doing something wrong, not PayPal or the game company.
I just don't know what it is I'm doing the wrong way.

Hopefully all of that book I just wrote will help you guys understand what my problem is better.

I hate to say this, but that sounds like a scam to me. Probably been blocked by Paypal like was said above.

Okay I can see your point.

What I don't get is if PayPal has blocked that company why don't PayPal just tell me that instead of saying something went wrong?

The something went wrong message may actually be from the game. Then again maybe it really is just a glitch...
