Well kinda just stuck here

Truck runs okay, smokes on startup but once the cat warms up smoke goes away, so i know im burning oil somewhere. No codes, compressions is right around 160 on all cylinders. Now my timing was way off so i just adjusted it by feel until i bought a timing light. Finally got a timing light and timed it to 10 btdc but now the idle surges and i get misses on the lower rpm range(1000-3000) after that its fine. I tried to just goof off with the timing to see if it would stop surging but nothing. Still jumps from 500-1000 rpm, and i tried spraying carb cleaner on my vaccum lines and couldn't find a leak. Does anyone have any clue what it could be. O ya and my fuel pressure is at 37 at static but goes to 0 after a few seconds, stays around 37 when idling unless the idle starts surging. And there is no fuel in the fpr vaccum line.

I have a similar surge, and from what I have read it may be the idle control module on the side if the upper intake. MJ

sounds like you're on the right track.
did you remove the spout connector, prior to retiminig it? just checking

the last time you had the fuel filter changed was???
and yes...the AIC does affect the idle...if it is all carboned up it won't actuate properly.

Yup removed the spout, filter was changed about a month ago, and im going to clean off the aic to see if anything happens, but does anyone know where to get the gasket for it other then the dealer?
