i took the front end apart and need to know if the spindle seat is real important because there is not much left of it. if i put it back together without it. is it going to hert anything?

if its bad then get new,why ter it all a part a second time when you you could have fixed it when you were in there.

The spindle has to be seated squarely or you will toast the spindle bearings for sure once the hubs are locked as well as kill brake pads and so on. Just replace it.

If you're referring to the thin cup shaped piece of metal that the factory fitted between the knuckle and the spindle rotting away....

It's not a problem to leave it out. In fact, none of my RBVs still have those, most were rotted to junk by the time I got the truck.

If you're talking about anything else, by all means, replace it.

yes that is it and thats what i thought just wanted to make shore well off to the shop to finish thank you vary much

No problem. I would suggest slobering a healthy dose of never-seize all over the contact area of the spindle before putting it back on, it makes the spindle easier to remove the next time you have to do that.... you only have to whack it a half a dozen times to get it off instead of a hundred times...:tease:
