Hello, Ive got a 92 ranger with the 6cylinder 3.0 i noticed a few wires that had frayed ends. i followed it up to a connector. that connector is located in the back side of the engine on the drivers side at the top.
the other side of the connector's wires disappear under the intake manifold. i cant for the life of me figure out where the frayed ends are supposed to connect to. here is a picture of the connector after i pulled it off the truck.

helpful hint, post the colors of each wire.
I'm a 2000+ guy so can't help much. stay tuned

Looks a lot like an oxygen sensor connector. But I'm not sure about those wire colors. My book is for 1993. So colors might have changed. Can't think of anything else in that area that would look like that.

The shape is similar, but the O2 sensor connector only has spaces for 4 pins.

This looks more like the connector that runs down to the transmission.

But, that shouldn't be going under the intake. It should be on the driver's side fender.

Yeah. Location is why I didn't say transmission.
