Unless you are in south Texas. I am willing to drive to Austin, Brownsville, Laredo, or Houston. That's basically what I could easily do on a Saturday/Sunday.
 
I would go right to a 5.3 4l80...and try to find a 241....or run a 231with a 32 spline input if you want a sye.
