Hello All,

I've searched this forum for years for some information to work on my ranger, but never got around to making an account until now. I have a 2008 Ford Ranger 2.3 automatic, and just bought my son a 1996 Ford Ranger 2.3 5 speed for his first truck. He's not old enough to drive yet, but I want to get him wrenching on something and learning how to work on and maintain his vehicles and learn how to drive a manual. Both of our trucks are 2wd. We don't have any major plans for either truck other than working on them to keep them reliable and clean them up a bit.

and you got him in a great first truck. good gas mileage and reliable are two important vehicle features. my kids are learning that but they had to go through some bad gas mileage cars that they needed to work on before learning the value in those two items
