Hello all!

I've been reading the forum here for a year or two now. Just noticed today I haven't posted a damn thing. Well here goes. Starting from Phoenix, Arizona I departed on a few month expedition crossing the continental United States and Canada traveling on as many back country roads as possible. My first leg was through the Southern states then down into Florida. Then heading up the East Coast to Nova Scotia and back to the West with a jump to the Arctic Circle in Alaska. So far I have racked up 20,000+ miles and a few thousand photos.

Today I've been gone for over 2 1/2 months, but I'm headed home. Its been fun and I should have more pics and updates to fallow.

Damn dude; like we used to say in seventies, "wow . . what a trip!".

Good to have you "officially" in the Forums; welcome aboard!

Wow...awesome road trip! Can you tell us where that front bumper/skid came from? Is it custom or commercially available? Thanks.

hey, i recognize you from Expeditionportal.com

do you have any specs on your ranger, or shots of your setup?

Hey! Next time you are in Tooele, let us know and our club can lend a hand if need be or find some trails to do with you! At least you had family here!

that is a sweet rear bumper/tire carrier. custom?

I've always wanted to take a trip like that

Cool! The ultimate road trip, huh? Welcome to the site. Like the pics, the furthest north I've been is Fairbanks, AK.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Sorry for the delay in my reply. I've been busy as hell getting back to a normal life... :)

Specs:
2001 XLT Ranger, 2.3L, 5 Speed Man, 2wd (thats right!)
31x10.5r15 BFG All Terrains, Fabtech 3" front lift, Procomp Leaf Springs
Custom shackles for rear

Everything else on the truck is custom. Desert Worx Motorsports built the front bumper. I built the rear bumper/swing gate, roof rack and tons more. As for gear and other details, thats a huge list I'll have to post later.

I've got some updates to post on my site soon, but for now check out this short video I made. http://www.youtube.com/maoriexpeditions

Roger: I'll be headed up there again after the first of the year. I'll drop a line.

I've always wanted to do something like that. Only thing is, I'd have to replace all my broken windows.

Too cool, thanks for sharing.. If you have not already, you need to contact Ford and cash in on this, this has BUILT FORD TOUGH written all over it.... who says Ford cannot build a truck... and you did this in a Ranger, no less, maybe Ford would rethink their plans for the Ranger trucks... wishful thinking..

Crazy thing is I'm pretty sure I saw your truck driving through Boston about a month ago...I could be wrong, or someone else has a truck that looks a lot like yours.

Wow, awesome expedition. I hope to do something similiar someday. Thanks for sharing yours! Btw nice ranger, and crazy that you did it with 2wd ;)
